Unlike traditional tuning approaches, the MapEV solution preserves your factory ASG (control unit) entirely. Your original module remains unmodified and can be easily reinstalled at any time—providing flexibility for servicing or dealership visits without permanent changes to the vehicle.
It’s important to understand how modern OEM detection works. While, at the time of writing, the factory is not actively flagging modified control units on J1 platform vehicles, this position can change at any time. Manufacturers already have full visibility into control unit history during dealer interactions—they are simply choosing not to enforce warranty actions today.
Transparency matters:
Any claim that ECU modifications are “undetectable” is misleading. This reflects either a misunderstanding of manufacturer “Tuning Detection” (TD1) processes—or a lack of honesty.
Performance gains vary by model, but the results are significant. For example, a 2025 Porsche Taycan 4 equipped with the Performance Battery can increase from 435 PS (430 HP) to approximately 940 PS (927 HP)—more than doubling factory output.

MapEV supports all models within the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tronGT / Audi RS e-tronGT lineup.
- J1.1 Platform (2020 – early 2024): $2,599
- J1.2 Platform (late 2024 facelift and newer): $3,099
Note: Pricing varies by platform due to hardware and software differences between J1.1 and J1.2 vehicles.
Ordering Process
There are two ways MapEV controllers can be supplied:
Unlocked (No VIN / Destination Flash)
- Requires flashing via ENET cable through the OBD port
- Intended for advanced users or installers
Pre-Flashed (VIN-Specific – Recommended)
- Plug-and-play installation
- No flashing required
- Currently the only option available to end users while we expand our installer network
Vehicle Identification Steps
To ensure compatibility, you’ll need to retrieve your vehicle’s software details:
- Download the MapEV Diag software
- Connect a BMW ENET cable from your vehicle’s OBD port to a PC
- Turn the ignition on
- Select “Scan Vehicle”
- Select “Read ASG Info” and confirm upload to MapEV
Installation
Installation of the control unit typically takes ~1 hour, even for first-time installers.
As our network grows, we will introduce authorized installers and retail partners. In the meantime, installation can be completed independently using MapEV’s provided guidance. MAPEV installation video.
Important Ordering Requirements
- A valid VIN is required to process your order
- Orders will not ship until VIN and vehicle identification are confirmed
- Vehicle identification via MapEV Diag software is mandatory before shipping a pre-flashed controller
